What Are Some Points I Have to Take Care of While Living in PG in Bangalore?

A paying guest is particularly a space where someone resides in the same flat as the owner. The person gets access to use all of the amenities and pays for it to the owner every month including the meals.
In Bangalore, offering paying guest facilities to students or working professionals has become a huge business because of the flood that comes in from the other cities of India. Living in a PG in Bangalore means you would be sharing your space with others. This indeed means that things would not be any easier for both of you, especially when you are a newcomer. You need to abide by the strict PG rules, which may seem quite difficult in the beginning.

To avoid any conflicts while living in Bangalore PGs, here are a few rules you need to follow.

  • The guest policy

While living in PGs near me in Bangalore, you must keep the guest policy in mind. Usually, paying guests have different rules initiated for the people that vary from one to another. Some may restrict the entry of any opposite gender on the premises while others may ask them to leave before 9:00 PM. Also, you may not be allowed to bring guests to your flat for an overnight stay.

Can you dodge this rule? Yes, of course. But you need to handle it very smartly so that the flatmates don't object. Also, maintain a good rapport with the PG manager. Pay him some extra cash at times, and things will work smoothly.

  • You can't keep any pet
You may be a dog lover or a cat lover, but choosing to live in a PG in Bangalore means saying goodbye to this kind of love within the property. This is simply because your roommate might be scared or allergic to pets, or because your landlord does not like pets for some personal reasons. Even if you request, the PG owner will turn a deaf ear when he sees people leaving the PG due to the pet.
  • Boring Food

When choosing to live in a PG in Bangalore, you are simply choosing a life full of adjustments. The biggest adjustment that you might have to make is on food. There may be times when the PG offers food that you may not like, but you still need to have the same food 3 times a day. It's hard, indeed. If you opt-out of the food facility, they'll not reduce the monthly charges. Even if they reduce it, it will be a meager amount which is almost near to nothing.

Can you bring food from outside to the PG room? Yes, you can. But see that your roommate is not allergic to it. Or else, don’t bring.

  • Maintaining hygiene
Maintaining proper hygiene while living in a PG in Bangalore is a basic thing to follow. Even though the Corona conditions have settled down a bit, they still maintain safety.
  • Valuing religious and cultural beliefs
It is possible that the pg in Bangalore, you are living in has roommates with different religious and cultural beliefs.
Your religious beliefs may value certain things while for others, they may not. Mentioning your religious and cultural beliefs in front of others can make them feel offended. So stay out of that practice.

Response of a student; Pleading for change

Response of a student; Pleading for change . What will your reaction be when your own daughter becomes the prey of molestation? How would you feel when one of your own family members becomes the object of sex trafficking? How aggressively would you stand to fight when you hear from someone that your daughter was beaten, raped and murdered? Won’t your heart seize to beat? Won’t your brain just freeze? This was the same situation with me when I was going through news headlines recently – “ An eight year old girl, Asifa  had been gang raped, strangled with her own scarf and bashed in the skull with a rock.” And not more than few days had passed to this incident , that another headline reported-“ Another 8-year old girl raped and killed”. My follicles stood tall , there ran deep terror inside and the tears dropped without even a pause. Are we progressing toward a period where humanity will seize to exist and a new world of crime and punishment be the foundation of constitution? ...

Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy

Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy Health and Fitness have become key words in today’s stress filled life. But do we have the time to indulge in fitness activities when we are overloaded with college assignments, exams and activities ? A healthy body is a barometer of a person’s mental state. Honestly, I am not a person who would take the effort of exercising on a regular basis. But I do believe in the old adage,’if health is lost, wealth is lost’. I am aware that I have to stay fit, both in body and mind. Personal instances have proved that exercising creates a very positive energy around one; it increases the alertness of the mind. One suddenly feels recharged and filled with positive motivation to achieve the target plan of the day. Just last month a friend of mine in the hostel started exercising in the morning. The result has been encouraging as doesn’t feel fatigued and feels fresh in class too. She is no more haunted by sleep monsters during lectures. She choose to exercis...
