Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy

Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy

Health and Fitness have become key words in today’s stress filled life. But do we have the time to indulge in fitness activities when we are overloaded with college assignments, exams and activities ? A healthy body is a barometer of a person’s mental state.

Honestly, I am not a person who would take the effort of exercising on a regular basis. But I do believe in the old adage,’if health is lost, wealth is lost’. I am aware that I have to stay fit, both in body and mind. Personal instances have proved that exercising creates a very positive energy around one; it increases the alertness of the mind. One suddenly feels recharged and filled with positive motivation to achieve the target plan of the day.

Just last month a friend of mine in the hostel started exercising in the morning. The result has been encouraging as doesn’t feel fatigued and feels fresh in class too. She is no more haunted by sleep monsters during lectures. She choose to exercise in the mornings since she returns late after lectures.  She confesses that it was not easy for her in the beginning. But now, she looks forward to the morning exercise as she finds that it has made a remarkable difference in her overall outlook and personality.

My friend makes use of the hostel gym which is well equipped with cardiovascular and strength training gym equipment for your daily workouts; an excellent way of making use of what is available where you reside.

If you are beginner and unsure of how to use the gym equipments in a correct way, you could always go to Youtube and search for fitness channels. There are endless fitness channels that create fitness programmes ( with or without gym equipments). You could choose a simple regime to start with and then increase the pace, duration and intensity of the excises as you  progress. Apart from this, there are apps like Sworkit  and 7 Minute Workout that are good if one wants to have short and effective exercising sessions.
Finally, make an attempt to go outdoors, Indulge in some sports activities, walk a lot and keep yourself hydrated.  Water, of course, is the perfect way to avoid dehydration. It’s hard to stay on a diet, but remember, you are what you eat. So stay fit, stay healthy.

Note: As I write this article, my intention is only to promote a healthy and fit lifestyle. I am not in any way referring to body shapes and types.

A Memorable Day at Orphanage

We believe in giving back to the society and serving everyone in need. Here's how we have been trying our best to contribute. Myroomie visited to an orphanage and here we are sharing our experiences As we stepped into the living , we saw few people, sitting at a table. Their eyes looked tired and empty, void of all emotions. They greeted us with a faint smile. After the introduction, we started off with some fun activities. Later, we presented the old ladies with waterbottles and snacks that we had brought for them. We also handed the books and crayons we had taken for the children. Next we started with a small entertainment programme that we had put up for them. We also played a fun little musical chair activity with them. The residents bubbled with energy, as they shook a leg with us and hummed to the tune of songs rhymes and more! It was a different kind of satisfaction altogether, to hear their joyous laughs, their smiles and hushed giggles. So contrary
