MILES AWAY IS MY NEW HOME

Even after hours of determined persuasion, a mammoth of pleadings and a number of summonses in front of parents in order to explain them how eagerly you want to go to a college outside your city and want to live in a hostel which is equally important  in terms of an individual’s mental growth and development and it is also important to experience the independence provided to you by using it towards your growth, there comes a time in the lives of most of the first year students who after staying for a month or two in the hostel might get surrounded by a totally different set of feelings.
They might feel home-sick and overburdened by the sudden pressure of a number of jobs such as washing clothes, cleaning the utensils, the room etc. along with the studies. Incompletion of which might lead to a feeling of lack of ability in them to move forward with their lives.
Going away from parents for the first time to a hostel at the age of 16 or 17 is a period of transitions in many ways. One of the most important solutions to deal with it is to interact and make new friends which makes you as well as the other person feel comfortable and helps in cutting the first turf. This would help you to moderate yourself effectively. Another solution is to schedule everything by keeping in mind about your priorities and on the same time by giving sufficient time to breaks and extra-curricular activities in order to keep your mind fresh and clear.
Hostel life indeed can turn out to be one of the most useful parts of our lives only if the independent atmosphere provided to the students leads them to developing abilities like good decision making and priority setting which would lead to a lifelong holistic development of those individuals.

Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy

Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy Health and Fitness have become key words in today’s stress filled life. But do we have the time to indulge in fitness activities when we are overloaded with college assignments, exams and activities ? A healthy body is a barometer of a person’s mental state. Honestly, I am not a person who would take the effort of exercising on a regular basis. But I do believe in the old adage,’if health is lost, wealth is lost’. I am aware that I have to stay fit, both in body and mind. Personal instances have proved that exercising creates a very positive energy around one; it increases the alertness of the mind. One suddenly feels recharged and filled with positive motivation to achieve the target plan of the day. Just last month a friend of mine in the hostel started exercising in the morning. The result has been encouraging as doesn’t feel fatigued and feels fresh in class too. She is no more haunted by sleep monsters during lectures. She choose to exercis...

A Memorable Day at Orphanage

We believe in giving back to the society and serving everyone in need. Here's how we have been trying our best to contribute. Myroomie visited to an orphanage and here we are sharing our experiences As we stepped into the living , we saw few people, sitting at a table. Their eyes looked tired and empty, void of all emotions. They greeted us with a faint smile. After the introduction, we started off with some fun activities. Later, we presented the old ladies with waterbottles and snacks that we had brought for them. We also handed the books and crayons we had taken for the children. Next we started with a small entertainment programme that we had put up for them. We also played a fun little musical chair activity with them. The residents bubbled with energy, as they shook a leg with us and hummed to the tune of songs rhymes and more! It was a different kind of satisfaction altogether, to hear their joyous laughs, their smiles and hushed giggles. So contrary ...
